Testimonials
Since starting Carter Energy Consulting we have received considerable praise for our services. Here are a few examples of the feedback we have earned.
I have worked with Jeremy Carter on many projects since 2016.
He has helped us evaluate prototypes of low energy lab equipment prior to launch and also evaluated our finished products on behalf of others. His fastidious nature and attention to detail means our equipment is rigorously scrutinised and the data he provides gives us extra credibility as the units have been independently evaluated under a range of conditions.
We have found that ‘real world data’ as a result of independent evaluations are far more valuable and lends additional credibility to our low energy portfolio.

I worked with Jeremy for a number of years and found him to be a passionate and highly effective Energy Manager delivering outstanding results in complex and difficult situations. I can recommend him unequivocally and will continue to refer any clients that need advice on energy matters.

I enjoyed very much success working with Jeremy at Scarborough Borough Council. I found him to not only have a driving passion for energy management but also to have intrinsic knowledge and insight on this subject. Thus, combining his applied knowledge with his stakeholder relationship and project management skills, and authentic commitment to driving energy efficiency projects forward to reduce costs and carbon emissions, the Council was rewarded with great success.

Jeremy is a very professional, hard working and focussed Energy Manager who has provided invaluable energy advice to many of my projects and in particular, the replacement of Combined Heat and Power Plant Project currently under construction here at the Norwich Research Park. I have no hesitation in providing this recommendation for Jeremy, a great colleague and a credit to his profession.
Chris Beckley
Construction Project Manager
Norwich BioScience Research Institutes partnership
I worked with Jeremy for ~12 months on a project to speed up the growth of plants in controlled environment chambers. Jeremy was always extremely helpful, motivated, happy to give advice, and apply his expertise to a range of energy problems across the project. His energy calculations were crucial to the successful project outcome which is now published in Nature Plants with Jeremy as co-author. If you need energy calculations or want to make energy savings – Jeremy is the man!

I was introduced to Jeremy Carter by a mutual business acquaintance. I asked him to effect an energy audit at my public house/ restaurant/ hotel in Norfolk.
His approach was scientific and detailed and his report was pragmatic, accurate and useful.
As a result of implementing the suggested improvements, we are anticipating energy consumption savings of in excess of 30%.
I was impressed and pleased with the service throughout.

I was introduced to Jeremy whilst he was Energy Manager for Scarborough Borough Council whilst Kinetic Systems Support were the councils BMS supplier and maintenance provider.
My first dealings with Jeremy was when he explained that he no longer wanted to employ Kinetic Systems Support to maintain the BMS systems across the Scarborough council sites, instead he wanted to employ us to use the BMS to drive further energy savings.
This was music to my ears and certainly something I wish other clients asked us to do. At the time Jeremy had the ideas and enthusiasm but lacked the programming expertise.
One of the things that struck me with Jeremy was his desire to achieve greater energy savings.
One of Jeremy’s first ideas was to program the swimming pool ventilation fan speeds to modulate the speed control to match the demands of the swimming pool usage and occupancy rather than like most swimming pool ventilation systems run at a day speed setting and a night speed setting.
Jeremy’s idea was based on the fact that certain sessions whether it be Swimming lessons, lane swims or ante natal classes had different bather loads and as such had different ventilation requirements. Meaning the current standard day ventilation approach of one size fits all wasted energy.
Following lengthy liaison with the swimming pool management team we programmed fan speeds based on the pool program. Jeremy had access to next day electrical data through the electricity supply contract. This enabled Jeremy to provide a pictorial visualisation of the impact our programming had on building electric consumption.
Jeremy suggested taking this further by introducing humidity sensors to control the fan speeds. This automated the process and achieved further savings, for example if a School failed to turn up for their booking rather than have the ventilation fan speed run at the school swimming speed. The humidity sensors realised the swimming pool was empty and slowed the ventilation down even further.
Jeremy’s ventilation control strategy is something we have introduced to many other clients. Jeremy clearly has a real talent for driving additional savings through BMS systems.
Other the following years we worked closely with Jeremy to further reduce energy consumption on the council’s sites.
